A while back, I was drowning in email alerts, notifications and RSS feeds. I felt overwhelmed and frustrated until a colleague of mine recommended I use iGoogle to help me manage my online content, updates and links.
Within days, iGoogle gave me a way to have a sense of control over the overwhelming flow of information and helped me keep things organized. It has become a very important part of my working life!

Here are the top 5 reasons why I love iGoogle:
- It is my own personal homepage – it’s familiar; every time I open my browser I feel right at home
- It makes it easy for me to stay on top of all the latest information I need from blogs, websites and RSS feeds – I can see what I need to see at a glance
- I get to decide how it should look – I get to choose the page theme and I can change it as often as I wish
- I get to organize the content to suit my own needs – it’s super easy to organize; you just drag and drop gadgets
- Adding feeds and gadgets couldn’t be easier, so I can change my iGoogle page at any time

Right now on my iGoogle page I have all my Google Reader feeds, a To-Do list, a reminder sticky note feature, my Facebook and Twitter sign-on pages, news sites, and Toronto weather. It’s my own little universe, and it saves me all kinds of time, helps me to stay organized and has become the friendly face of the Internet for me.
