According to Blog Pulse there are 145,293,233 blogs on the Internet – with close to 40,000 being added every day…. that’s a lot of blogs!!! – So how do you evaluate a blog? Terry Freedman at The Educational Technology Site has put together this handy list of 10 things to consider when deciding whether or not a blog is worth reading- 10 Ways to Evaluate a Blog - is a very useful list for personal use and as the basis for introducing students to blogs and blogging.

It's nice to be noticed….

Our blog has made it on to the   50 Best Blogs for Literacy Teachers list – and yes, it is nice to be noticed and great to  think that  more people will learn about the blog… I think that’s the  great thing about lists like this – there are always hidden treasures – here are a couple of great finds…

The Literacy Tribune - from United Literacy Inc.  a U.S. non-profit dedicated to providing information and resources to adult literacy learners and   Literacy is Priceless a  blog by self-described literacy and technology enthusiast Anna Batchelder,   in which she shares information, ideas, downloads and much more…

Scrolling through the list  I notice that 2 great literacy blogs from Canada are included….  Literacies Cafe and  qualities-communities- literacies -  for a wise and witty take on lists and “literacy” blogs check out the latest post in qualities-communities – literacies……
